How Maybe* is supporting local business and the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS)

On Wednesday February 5 2020, Maybe* was delighted to spend the day with the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS)  at its Tech Showcase to members alongside, Google and other leading Tech Providers.

Social media offers all businesses large and small a powerful way to connect with customers. It is one of the most popular online activities and current projections expect c 3.1 billion users worldwide in 2021 (about 45% of the worldwide population)

It's not surprising then that customers increasingly have an expectation of being able to research and engage with a brand or business using social media and companies not servicing these channels will be falling short.

The Maybe* platform measures the social media performance of over 300K businesses every day. This data reveals that 78% of businesses say nothing via social media on a daily basis.

How independent retailers are using social media

Having a presence on social media can be daunting for a lot of independent or local retailers. Prior to the event Maybe* and the ACS teamed up to talk to some of the independents that are making the most out of their social media presence to engage with customers and promote their business by providing a social media help centre on the ACS website.

“Not only were we able to showcase the perspectives of customers but we were able to highlight ACS members already giving it a go and getting results. Budgets and time restraints can limit the access that independent retailers have to tools like Maybe* that help demonstrate what good looks like, and how to measure what matters so you can focus your efforts on what work. .

“It was very inspiring to be able to show this on a cinema screen to hundreds of ACS members and provide them with some real time help and advice live and in the room via a live Chat provided by Maybe*. We answered over 40 questions in less than 30 minutes."
