The best of independents’ social media posts

Hear 'Independents Day' and think Will Smith dragging an alien through the desert? Who doesn't! But film trivia aside, here at Maybe* we've been supporting and celebrating the best of independent retail for as long as we’ve been around. To mark Independents’ Day, we’ve rounded up the best of some of our stellar social media indies.

Maybe* provides a platform that enables indies to communicate and support one another in their local areas, growing business from existing customers and new ones via social media. Let’s show you how it's done.

Law and Co

Charming Cotswolds clothing boutique, Law and Co already had its Instagram stories nailed. But with a little help from Maybe*, the Maybe* Ad manager, some killer targeting insight, and “a few tippity taps on the keyboard” Law and Co were able to drive an additional £1300 in sales for an investment of just £30, in one week!

Keith Scarrott Shoes

Keith Scarrott Shoes doubled its online sales in April 2020 from both the previous month, and year on year, despite… being locked down.

The store has now re-opened and the business has got back to delighting customers with its summer soles and fancy footwear.

The brand always keeps things personal, quirky, and a little bit artisan, and since attracting and targeting a new audience over lockdown has seen its sentiment go from strength to strength.

Sara Da Silva

Sara Da Silva is another firm and booty firming favourite at Maybe*. We love her playful and personal tone of voice, and her passion for her product.

Sara is great at tagging in other female entrepreneurs, mummies, and fitness fanatics. She knows her community and customers so well, and is as supportive of them as they are of her.

Key takeaway

Social works best when you stay connected to customers and other businesses in your areas.  Knowing your best performing post helps you identify what your audience will respond to best.

In the case of independent retailers that often means demonstrating your human side and your pride in your local area. After all, sharing is caring. By exploring the best post in an entire town, or sector, you will build an understanding of what makes your target customer tick and be able to engage them effectively and connect with them more frequently.

Maybe* is a collaborative social media management platform that provides engagement tools,  actionable insights, reports and access to training that enables organisations to make social media work for them.
